The Central Bank of the Solomon Islands announced a new limited-edition SBD 50 commemorative banknote to mark its 50th Golden Jubilee. Printed on Safeguard polymer by De La Rue, the note will be issued in a run of one million and will circulate throughout the Solomon Islands as a SBD 50 note alongside the existing SBD 50 series. The Golden Jubilee events are scheduled to take place at the central bank from 15 June to 18 June 2026, with the commemorative note set for official launch on 18 June. Central Bank of the Solomon Islands to launch 1 million SBD 50 commemorative banknotes for golden jubilee
The Central Bank of the Solomon Islands will issue a limited-edition SBD 50 commemorative banknote for its 50th Golden Jubilee. One million polymer notes have been produced by De La Rue and will co-circulate with existing SBD 50 banknotes. The official launch is scheduled for 18 June 2026.
