Oman's Ministry of Finance announced that Oman is hosting the International Monetary Fund's 2026 mission until 15 June as part of preparations for the regular Article IV consultations. The visit will review recent economic developments and the outlook for growth and financial stability. Meetings are being held with officials and specialists from the Central Bank of Oman, the Ministry of Finance, other government entities and private sector institutions. The agenda covers economic, financial and monetary developments in Oman, regional and global trends and their possible effects on the domestic economy, as well as fiscal and monetary policy, labour market policy, social protection initiatives, progress in implementing economic and financial stimulus programmes and priorities for the next phase. The mission is scheduled to conclude on 15 June, when it will present its preliminary observations to the relevant authorities and then issue its concluding statement.
