The Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency of Türkiye has established an Insurance Fraud Prevention Committee and a Fraud Working Group to coordinate anti-fraud strategies, strengthen institutional cooperation and reduce financial losses. Their work will draw on data in the Insurance Fraud Information Sharing System maintained by the Insurance Information and Monitoring Center, as well as other relevant data, analyses and reports. The committee will assess fraud risks and priorities, review working group findings, identify potential regulatory changes and support the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced analytics. The working group will include regulatory, industry and insurance information center representatives, with additional public-sector, academic and technical experts where needed. It will analyze emerging fraud methods, develop common risk indicators and early-warning criteria, address implementation issues and assess reporting mechanisms. Committee and working group decisions, reports and recommendations are advisory and do not limit the statutory responsibilities of relevant bodies. Suspected criminal conduct identified through the committee’s work must be reported to the agency, and the circular took effect upon publication.
