The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, jointly with the People’s Bank of China and the China Securities Regulatory Commission, held a liaison meeting of supervisors focused on financial consumer and investor protection, reviewing progress since the first inter-agency joint meeting and discussing current cross-market issues. Participants exchanged updates on recently issued consumer and investor protection rules in their respective regulatory domains and on coordinated arrangements for international cooperation and exchanges. The meeting highlighted ongoing joint work on policy development, multi-channel financial dispute resolution mechanisms, consumer and investor education, and international engagement, and called on liaison units to strengthen information-sharing and timely joint assessment of major issues and emerging trends to improve the foresight, coordination and consistency of supervision.
