The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), in cooperation with the Union of Arab Securities Authorities (UASA), has launched a three-day training programme in Doha on “Investment in Bonds” to build fixed-income market capability among mid- to advanced-level professionals across financial institutions and capital markets. Delivered by a Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI)-accredited expert, the programme covers bond fundamentals, returns, cash-flow structures, trading markets, credit ratings and key risks; yield analysis and pricing, including yield curves, time value of money and clean versus dirty price; and structured finance topics such as special purpose vehicles, mortgage-backed securities and asset-backed securities. It also addresses fixed-income derivatives and portfolio management, including futures, forwards, interest rate swaps and credit default swaps for hedging and cash-flow management, using a hands-on format of lectures and practical exercises, with certificates of participation issued by QFMA and UASA on completion.
