The Angola Capital Markets Commission has outlined a market-development agenda centered on clearer rules, broader supervision and stronger disclosure, as Angola seeks to deepen its capital markets and reduce reliance on traditional bank credit. The commission described an expanded supervisory perimeter covering management companies, financial intermediaries, auditors and valuation experts, alongside greater emphasis on audited financial reporting, compliance, corporate governance and high-quality information. The agenda also promotes digital processes, financial technology and environmental, social and governance criteria aligned with International Organization of Securities Commissions standards, continuing the commission’s use of technology to strengthen transparency and regulatory efficiency. A special edition of Rumo examining how this regulatory framework is affecting domestic liquidity and financial development is scheduled to be launched at the fifth Capital Markets Forum on Sept. 23.
