The Philippines Department of Finance announced that the Philippines and the United Kingdom have signed a government to government partnership providing access to up to GBP 5 billion, approximately PHP 419.90 billion, in UK Export Finance support for priority programs and projects. The framework is intended to combine financing, UK expertise, goods and services with opportunities for British businesses to participate in Philippine projects. The two governments will identify and advance viable projects aligned with the Philippines’ development agenda. Potential cooperation spans the energy transition, sustainable transport, water and sanitation, aviation and social infrastructure. The UK’s membership in the Luzon Economic Corridor also creates scope for financing, technical expertise and private investment in connectivity, energy systems, digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing supply chains across Luzon.
