Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. named Australia’s Steve Helmich and Canada’s Cary List as recipients of its 2026 Noel Maye Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Profession. The award recognizes their leadership in strengthening governance, professional standards and Certified Financial Planner certification across the organization’s global network. Helmich, board chairperson from 2013 to 2016, was recognized for guiding the organization through governance reforms and reinforcing financial planning as a distinct global profession. List was honored for more than a decade of service, including as chairperson of the FPSB Council, and for helping align professional standards and advance the consistency and recognition of CFP certification worldwide. The awards were presented at the FPSB Global Meeting in London on Oct. 16.
