The Central Bank of Peru published labour market data showing national formal employment rose 4.1% year on year in December 2025, extending the expansion to 21 consecutive months. Electronic payroll records indicate 249,000 new formal jobs were created over the year. Private-sector formal employment increased 5.4% year on year, adding 238,000 jobs, with the largest contributions from services (+93,000), agriculture (+59,000) and commerce (+40,000). The release also reports sectoral growth rates including agriculture (9.4%), mining (10.9%), construction (6.8%), manufacturing (3.1%) and services (4.3%), based on SUNAT electronic payroll data.
