The UK Parliament’s House of Lords Finance Bill Sub-Committee has launched an inquiry into the Draft Finance Bill 2025–26 and invited written evidence, focusing on tax administration, clarification and simplification rather than the incidence or rates of taxation. The inquiry will consider proposals to bring unused pension funds and death benefits into the scope of Inheritance Tax, alongside reforms to agricultural property relief and business property relief. The Sub-Committee is seeking input from taxpayers, advisers, relevant organisations and other interested parties. The deadline for written evidence is 5 pm on Tuesday 7 October 2025.
