The Reserve Bank of Fiji announced that Good Return, Women’s Fund Fiji and the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation’s Women Entrepreneurs Business Council have joined the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Code, bringing the coalition to 14 signatories. Their addition broadens the partnership beyond government, regulators and financial service providers to include development and business support organizations working directly with women entrepreneurs. The coalition seeks to improve financing, sex-disaggregated data and business conditions for women-owned and women-led enterprises. The Fiji Financial Services Demand Side Survey 2025 found that women account for 55% of household micro, small and medium enterprise owners, but their businesses generally operate at a smaller scale and face greater financing barriers. The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection is the code’s national champion, while the Reserve Bank coordinates its implementation with the Asian Development Bank.
