The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) delivered a seminar for government lawyers aimed at strengthening understanding of insurance laws, procedures, regulations and guidelines to support compliance and the handling of insurance-related legal work. The training was held on 10 October 2025 in Dodoma. Sessions covered topics including universal health insurance legislation, the working relationship between government lawyers and the insurance sector, core insurance laws, and the mandate of the Tanzania Insurance Ombudsman (TIO). The Attorney General’s Office welcomed the initiative, while TIRA representatives indicated the authority will continue providing insurance-focused training for government lawyers and other stakeholders, and highlighted the role of the programme in enabling more timely and appropriate support for citizens.
