The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has registered the first Guernsey fund to qualify for two parts of the island’s Sustainable Funds Regime. The solar energy fund is the second fund to receive a Natural Capital Fund designation and the first that was already designated as a Guernsey Green Fund. The Natural Capital Fund regime provides a regulated designation for investment schemes that make a positive contribution to the natural world or significantly reduce harm to nature. The Guernsey Green Fund designation, which has about GBP 4.5 billion of assets under management, is intended to improve investor access to green investments through a transparent product aligned with internationally agreed objectives on environmental damage and climate change. The newly registered fund invests in and manages solar energy infrastructure that generates clean electricity while also seeking to benefit nature.
