The Astana Financial Services Authority has issued an alert after receiving information that individuals are falsely presenting themselves as representatives of Jade Capital OEIC Ltd and circulating a falsified licence purportedly issued by AFSA. According to the alert, they have been offering financial services to members of the public and accepting client funds while claiming to operate as an Authorised Firm within the Astana International Financial Centre. AFSA confirmed that the licence being circulated was never issued by it. It also clarified that Jade Capital OEIC Ltd is registered in the AIFC as an investment fund and does not hold a licence in its own right. Under the AIFC framework for collective investment schemes, the fund manager, rather than the fund itself, must hold the licence to conduct regulated activities. AFSA urged the public to verify any claimed authorisation through its Public Register.
