The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Financial Intelligence Unit India (FIU-India) for mutual cooperation and information exchange, incorporating the Egmont principles, as part of coordinated efforts to support implementation of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 and related rules. The arrangement is intended to enable regular sharing of data and information between FIU-India and SEBI to help fight frauds in the securities market. The MoU was signed by FIU-India Director Amit Mohan Govil and SEBI Whole Time Member Sandip Pradhan, and it came into force on April 15, 2026.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Financial Intelligence Unit India to enhance mutual cooperation and information exchange, incorporating the Egmont principles, in support of implementing the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 and related rules. The arrangement enables regular sharing of data and information between the two authorities to help combat frauds in the securities market and took effect on 15 April 2026.
