The Kyrgyz Republic Ministry of Finance reported that Finance Minister Ruslan Suynaliev and senior European Bank for Reconstruction and Development officials discussed accelerating existing projects, advancing a framework agreement and potential bank participation in the Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower plant. Both sides expressed interest in signing the framework agreement by the end of 2026, while the Kyrgyz side proposed beginning work on technical and grant support for the hydropower project. The discussions also focused on improving procurement procedures, increasing the effective use of project funds and addressing the legal basis for the bank’s activities in Kyrgyzstan. The parties indicated readiness to pursue further joint projects in water supply, energy and infrastructure.
