The Rwanda Capital Markets Authority said it used a study tour to Nigeria to engage the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers on a potential training partnership aimed at strengthening professional skills, standards and certification in Rwanda's capital market. The discussion focused on how a more formal professional development pipeline could support the country's market growth. The exchange covered certification pathways for Rwandan practitioners, continuous capacity building, knowledge sharing between the two markets and programmes to encourage new entrants into capital markets careers. The institute is Nigeria's statutory professional body for stockbrokers and other securities and investment practitioners and, through its academy, provides continuing professional development. Rwanda framed the initiative as part of efforts to build market depth, breadth and trust as its financial centre develops.
