The Central Bank of the Philippines issued a circular letter advising all Authorized Agent Banks and their subsidiary or affiliate foreign exchange corporations that specific Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) registration documents for the foreign direct investments of VAN MELLE INTERNATIONAL TRUST B.V. (Netherlands) in PERFETTI VAN MELLE PHILS, INC. have been reported lost. The documents should not be honored if found and presented to support the purchase of foreign exchange for capital repatriation or remittance of earnings. The notice covers three BSP registration documents and the shares registered: CB-FEOID (FI) 88-00363 (210,000 shares, registered 12-Oct-1988), CB-FEOID (FI) 89-00005 (984,000 shares, registered 09-Jan-1989), and CB-FEOID (FI) 89-00131 (1,222,000 shares, registered 06-Jun-1989), for a total of 2,416,000 shares. Replacement of the lost documents has been applied for, and the instruction is issued pursuant to Section 38 of the Manual of Regulations on Foreign Exchange Transactions, as amended.
