The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission has concluded its participation in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Global Money Week 2026, delivering a programme of school and university lectures, media engagements, a targeted social media campaign, and joint initiatives with stakeholders under the theme “Smart Money Talks”. Across Cyprus, CySEC’s lectures covered practical financial management topics including saving, budgeting, responsible consumption, understanding the value of money, and protection against financial risks and fraud, with a focus on critical thinking to help young people assess information and identify misleading practices. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth through the Cyprus Financial Literacy and Education Committee, CySEC also developed and distributed educational material to schools and educators; the materials are available via the Financial Education Hub on CySEC’s website. The programme also included articles and interviews by CySEC representatives and participation in a podcast organised by the Financial Wellbeing Institute. CySEC will continue delivering lectures and presentations throughout May following interest from educational institutions.
