The National Bank of Moldova has announced the start of work on a draft Executive Committee decision to amend its regulation on credit transfers, direct debits and the assignment of IBAN codes, to transpose Regulation (EU) No 260/2012 setting technical and business requirements for euro credit transfers and direct debits. The changes would update the national framework currently set out in the regulation approved by the National Bank of Moldova Executive Committee Decision No 108/2023, as part of Moldova’s ongoing alignment of rules for credit transfers and direct debits. The initiative is also linked to commitments under Moldova’s 2025–2029 National Accession Programme to update the national regulatory framework for payment services and electronic money. Stakeholders have been invited to submit opinions, proposals and recommendations by 19 February 2026.
