The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants to discuss cooperation on advancing international financial standards and building professional capacity in the banking sector, and agreed to prepare proposals setting out next steps. Discussions covered ACCA’s activities in Uzbekistan, potential support for banks’ implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards, and opportunities to raise the qualifications of banking professionals through ACCA’s international certification programmes. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman Sanjar Nosirov and ACCA’s Public Affairs Lead for Eurasia, Gaukhar Ashirbekova.
