Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF) published a snapshot of 2025 complaints in the State of Campeche, reporting MXN 6.4 million recovered for users from concluded cases and an overall user-favourable resolution rate of 45.4%. The update also highlights that 78.3% of complaints in the state were handled through CONDUSEF’s electronic case-management process. The total amount claimed reached MXN 43.1 million, equivalent to 0.3% of the national total. Complaints were concentrated in the municipality of Campeche (67.2%), followed by Carmen (15.0%) and Champotón (5.0%); the main causes were failure to update credit history, unrecognized purchases, and disagreement with loan balances or amortization amounts (23.1% combined). Credit cards, personal loans and special credit reports accounted for 42.3% of complaints, while commercial banks represented 53.5% of complaints by sector, followed by insurers (11.9%) and credit information companies (11.5%); 24.9% of complaints were linked to possible fraud, mainly unrecognized purchases and account charges. CONDUSEF also reiterated that its procedures are free of charge, promoted its digital channels for complaints and reporting debt-collection malpractices, and warned consumers against paying intermediaries to process claims.
