The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan published a report on a working meeting on implementation of Tajikistan’s State Anti-Corruption Strategy through 2030. The discussions focused on the second-stage action plan for 2026 to 2030, the banking system’s role in preventing corruption, and the need to strengthen controls as wider use of information technology and electronic payments brings new risks. Chaired by Deputy Chairman Sirojiddin Ikromi, the meeting included a senior inspector from the Agency for State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption, heads of the bank’s central office and regional branches, and staff responsible for implementing the strategy. Participants reviewed the results of the strategy’s first phase, Presidential Decree No. 1145 of 6 March 2026, compliance with anti-corruption legislation, and practical measures to prevent corruption factors. The bank also highlighted rising risks including fraud, unlawful use of payment cards, and financial pyramid schemes, and linked these to the need for stronger internal controls, transparent operations, and higher financial and legal literacy across the banking and insurance systems.
