The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission has launched a consultation evaluating the effectiveness of the Provident Fund Act and related regulations. The review will assess legal and regulatory obstacles and inform whether changes are needed to improve provident funds as retirement savings and investment vehicles for employees. The evaluation is required every five years under Thailand’s legislative review framework and follows the SEC’s previous assessment in 2021 and proposed amendments submitted to the Ministry of Finance in 2023. Comments are due by Oct. 2, 2026.
