The European Commission has launched a survey to gather input from microfinance providers across Europe as part of its planned revision of the European Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision. The survey targets all financial institutions active in microfinance, including those that do not currently adhere to the Code. It asks respondents to assess the Code’s effectiveness and current relevance, identify practical challenges in applying it, and propose improvements, with responses to be treated anonymously and used in the revision process. The survey is open until 6 July 2025. The Commission expects the updated Code to be adopted possibly by late 2026 or early 2027.
