The Central Bank of Costa Rica is conducting fieldwork for a survey on family remittances to strengthen its economic statistics. The exercise seeks socioeconomic information on remittances received and sent by migrants to deepen analysis of how these flows affect households and the national economy. The survey covers immigrants living in Costa Rica as well as Costa Rican emigrants and their families. The information collected will be used only for statistical purposes and will support the production of key economic indicators for the Bank’s functions, including safeguarding the internal and external stability of the national currency. The Bank said all data will be treated under strict confidentiality.
