The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) participated in the Insurtech Brasil 2025 event in São Paulo, joining discussions with insurtechs, insurers, regulators and market specialists on the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in insurance. In the main plenary session on regulatory outlook for the insurance market, Superintendent Alessandro Octaviani highlighted key advances associated with the new Insurance Contract Law and referred to SUSEP’s role in supporting an environment conducive to new solutions. Director Júlia Normande Lins spoke on regulatory innovation, focusing on how regulatory frameworks can keep pace with technological change while maintaining consumer protection and market stability. Director Carlos Queiroz addressed legislative and regulatory changes affecting insurance cooperatives and mutual property protection, linking regulation to broader access to insurance protection. Across the programme, artificial intelligence was a central theme, including its use in distribution and embedded insurance, data use, underwriting and claims regulation, as well as throughout the customer journey.
