The Board of the Chile Financial Market Commission sanctioned Deloitte Auditores y Consultores Limitada and partner Roberto Leiva Casas-Cordero for breaches of the Law on the Securities Market and Generally Accepted Auditing Rules (NAGAs), imposing fines of UF 2,000 and UF 1,000, respectively, related to the audit of Primus Capital S.A.’s December 2022 financial statements. The CMF found shortcomings against required standards of due care, diligence and professional skepticism, including deficiencies in obtaining and assessing audit evidence, properly documenting work performed, and applying audit procedures. The audit team did not obtain sufficient evidence on the most relevant aspect of Primus’ financial statements, and weaknesses were also identified in supervision, with the CMF concluding that these issues affected the quality of financial information made available to the market.

The Board of the Chile Financial Market Commission sanctioned Deloitte Auditores y Consultores Limitada and partner Roberto Leiva Casas-Cordero for breaches of the Securities Market Law and Generally Accepted Auditing Rules in the audit of Primus Capital S.A.’s December 2022 financial statements, imposing fines of UF 2,000 and UF 1,000. The Commission cited failures in due care, diligence and professional skepticism, including insufficient and poorly documented audit evidence, inadequate procedures and weak supervision, which it said affected the quality of financial information available to the market.
