The National Bank of Ukraine published updated figures for its special account supporting the defense forces. As of 1 June 2026, the account balance stood at over UAH 6.4 billion. More than UAH 3.3 billion was received in May, bringing total inflows since the account was opened on 24 February 2022 to the equivalent of over UAH 158.7 billion. Since the start of the full-scale war, over UAH 153.4 billion has been allocated from the account for defense needs, including about UAH 122.7 million in May 2026. Almost UAH 136.6 billion of total receipts came from abroad in foreign currencies. The largest allocations have gone to the Defence Procurement Agency at over UAH 97.26 billion and the Ministry of Defence at over UAH 38.401 billion, with additional funding directed to the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection, regional military administrations, the National Guard, the National Police, the Main Directorate of Intelligence, the State Border Guard Service, the Security Service of Ukraine, military units, and other security bodies. Previously unused funds of UAH 287.7 million were returned by the Defence Procurement Agency in May.
