The State Bank of Vietnam published details of the opening of a leadership training programme for directors and deputy directors of its regional branches, as well as officials being prepared for those roles. In remarks at the ceremony, Governor Pham Duc An framed the programme as preparation for the reorganised regional branch model, which raises expectations on policy execution, analysis, forecasting, management capacity and coordination in carrying out state management of monetary, banking and foreign exchange activities at local level. The programme is designed to link theory with practice and covers institutions, central banking operations, policy management, digital transformation, management and leadership skills, with sessions delivered by senior State Bank of Vietnam officials and experts. The Governor said regional branches should strengthen coordination with local authorities and other agencies, exercise delegated central bank functions, improve policy communication, monitor local banking and economic developments, and reinforce inspection, supervision, risk identification, early warning and reporting so that issues arising on the ground are addressed promptly and inform policy implementation and policy development across the system.
