Argentina Securities Commission has issued General Resolution No. 1128 introducing a new exemption, for non-residents, from the ARS 200 million daily limit on transfers of negotiable securities to foreign depository institutions. The daily cap will not apply to transfers to foreign depositories, regardless of the securities’ issuance law or amortisation term, provided the securities have remained in sub-accounts held by the transferor for at least 365 consecutive days from the date they were credited in those sub-accounts at the central securities depository. The measure is added to existing exemptions and was presented by the CNV’s president as part of an ongoing removal of operational restrictions in the capital markets.
