The Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia reported that its head, Davit Onoprishvili, is attending a joint meeting of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) Executive Committee and Macroprudential Committee in Singapore, hosted by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. In his capacity as an IAIS Executive Committee member, he is representing the Central, Eastern Europe and Transcaucasia (CEET) region, with discussions focused on current trends and systemic challenges in the insurance sector and on agreeing significant changes to the organisation’s structure. The agenda includes presentations and collective discussions from the year across insurance topics, review of monitoring results and systemic risk assessments, analysis of insurers’ activities and global market trends, directions for macroprudential policy development, and steps to deepen international cooperation and experience-sharing. The update also positions his participation as supporting closer alignment of the Georgian insurance market with international supervisory standards developed by the IAIS.
