The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan has published an update on a joint mission held from Sept. 15 to 17 to review the country’s updated investment plan under the Climate Investment Funds’ Industry Decarbonization Program. Government bodies, multilateral development banks, industrial companies and financial institutions assessed the plan and agreed on next steps to finalize it for submission to the fund. Discussions covered priority investments, financing needs and concessional financing mechanisms. Participants also considered how the plan should address barriers to industrial decarbonization, required support measures, gender equality, social inclusion and a just transition. Feedback from the mission will be considered for inclusion in the final plan.
