The Central Bank of Liberia has trained and certified 50 representatives from financial institutions, universities, youth and business groups, credit unions and other organizations to support Phase Two of its National Financial Education Campaign. The trainers are expected to extend education on budgeting, saving, financial goal setting, insurance, digital financial services and scam prevention to institutions and communities across Liberia. The campaign builds on Phase One, which reached more than 11,000 people. An endline assessment found that saving practices increased from 77% to 88%, investment practices from 68% to 86% and financial goal setting from 55% to 79%. The newly certified trainers have prepared plans to apply the material within their communities, institutions and target groups through a cascade model intended to broaden access to practical financial information.
