The Central Bank of Ecuador published external trade price data showing that the terms-of-trade index fell 12.29% from a year earlier and 5.69% from May to 90.26 points in June 2026. Import prices rose 19.73% year over year, substantially outpacing the 5.02% increase in export prices. The import price increase was driven primarily by a 60.29% rise in fuel and lubricant prices. Import volumes declined 0.73%, indicating that the 18.86% increase in import value mainly reflected higher prices. Export prices were supported by increases for copper, crude oil and gold, while export volumes fell 6.13% amid lower crude oil and copper shipments.
