The Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway has published a dedicated securitisation theme page, setting out an overview of relevant processes and practical information for firms involved in securitisation in Norway. The update reflects that the Norwegian securitisation framework has applied in national law since 1 August 2025 and that Finanstilsynet is responsible for supervising both traditional and synthetic transactions. Supervision covers follow-up of firms involved in securitisations, assessments of whether significant risk transfer has occurred, checks of compliance with simple, transparent and standardised (STS) criteria, and broader monitoring of compliance with the rules. The theme page includes guidance on notifications for securitisations with significant risk transfer, information on requirements for submitting STS notifications, and an explanation of Finanstilsynet’s practice when assessing firms’ overall risk and capital needs related to securitisation, alongside links to relevant regulations, legislation and EBA and ESMA securitisation resources.
