The Central Bank of Chile announced it will begin monthly publication of the Sales by Stratum Indicator (Indicador de Ventas por Estrato, IVE) from 10 July 2025, providing experimental statistics on monthly nominal sales for the manufacturing industry, commerce and business services, broken down by firm size and economic activity. Firm size will be classified using annual sales levels, separating companies into micro, small, medium-sized and large enterprises to support analysis of heterogeneity within sectors and the contribution of each stratum to aggregate sales. The IVE will be released in the “Experimental Statistics” section of the Statistical Database and on the Central Bank’s website via data-visualisation tools, including nominal sales and descriptive statistics by stratum with additional activity breakdowns. As part of the Central Bank’s Experimental Statistics project, the series will be published while still under development or consolidation, and may therefore be subject to significant revisions.
