Payments Canada announced changes to its Member Advisory Council (MAC), appointing Shakepay as a new member organization and reappointing five existing member organizations, effective 1 July 2025. The MAC is mandated in legislation to advise the Payments Canada board on its clearing and settlement systems, their interaction with other systems involved in payments exchange, clearing or settlement, and the development of new technologies. Shakepay will be represented by Eric Richmond, General Counsel and Head of Business Development. Returning organizations are TD Bank (Christine Hunter, Head of Enterprise Payments), Scotiabank (Dougal Middleton, Vice-President, Enterprise Payments, serving as MAC Chair), Wealthsimple (Hanna Zaidi, Chief Compliance Officer for Payments), Citi (Mohneet Gujral, Head of Payments, Canada, Treasury and Trade Solutions) and Wells Fargo (Rosalie Fink, Head of International Product Management – Payments & Liquidity). The next annual MAC call for nominations opens in early 2026.

Payments Canada has updated its Member Advisory Council (MAC), appointing Shakepay as a new member and reappointing five existing organizations, effective 1 July 2025. The MAC advises on clearing and settlement systems and the development of new technologies. Shakepay will be represented by Eric Richmond, while returning members include TD Bank, Scotiabank, Wealthsimple, Citi, and Wells Fargo.
