The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a seminar-training with Mastercard for staff from the Central Bank and commercial banks on effective response to cyber crisis situations, aimed at strengthening incident response capabilities, risk management and operational resilience in the financial sector. The programme focused on practical skills to prevent cyberattacks, mitigate impacts and restore systems quickly. Participants worked through exercises and simulations based on real-life scenarios covering decision-making under pressure, teamwork and rapid coordination, alongside approaches to data security, customer data protection and business continuity. Mastercard’s Head of Cybersecurity Solutions for Eastern Europe Resat Kokcen noted the growing prevalence of cyber crises and said Mastercard has invested more than USD 11 billion globally to protect customers.
