The Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force participated in the first meeting of the Financial Action Task Force's International Strategy Group, held on the sidelines of the FATF plenary in Paris. The meeting forms part of a new institutional consultative framework aimed at strengthening high-level dialogue and coordination on global strategic issues and shared priorities across the anti-money laundering, counterterrorist financing and counter-proliferation financing agenda. MENAFATF was represented by its president, Hamed Alzaabi, and the group's executive secretary. The International Strategy Group brings together leaders from the FATF and regional bodies to support more consistent and effective implementation of FATF standards across the international network as financial crime threats become more interconnected.

The Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force took part in the first meeting of the FATF International Strategy Group in Paris. The new forum brings together FATF and regional body leaders to coordinate on global strategic issues and shared AML, CFT and counter-proliferation financing priorities. It is intended to support more consistent implementation of FATF standards across the global network.
