The Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) has officially launched iDplus, a digital financial identity intended to support the use of electronic payments and the delivery of digital financial services, in an event held under the patronage and presence of Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa. iDplus is a mobile application that allows citizens to create a digital financial identity and link it to banking applications. It includes electronic registration and biometric verification, including facial recognition, and is positioned as providing advanced protection against electronic financial fraud alongside high standards of data protection and privacy. The PMA framed the initiative as a foundation for wider adoption of digital services, aimed at enhancing financial inclusion and enabling public and private sector providers to build new services.
