The Central Bank of Egypt, in coordination with the Egyptian Banking Institute, has launched a “Foundations of Fraud Combating” training program to strengthen the banking sector’s ability to detect, respond to, and prevent rapidly evolving fraud schemes. The program is intended to build a shared understanding of fraud conduct and frameworks for combating banking fraud, including mitigation techniques and a clearer, unified definition of banking fraud. It targets employees across different specializations and job levels, covering fraud types that staff and customers may encounter, methods to block attempted fraud, the impact of fraud through real-life case studies, and the appropriate actions to take when a fraudulent incident is discovered or suspected.
