The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) hosted Slovak Republic Ambassador Boris Gandel for a meeting with Governor Irena Radovic, covering Montenegro’s current economic conditions, banking sector trends, and prospects for further central bank cooperation. Radovic presented the CBCG’s strategic directions, including institutional and regulatory reforms aimed at preserving and strengthening financial stability and harmonising with European System of Central Banks (ESCB) standards. Discussions also referenced ongoing cooperation between the central banks of Montenegro and Slovakia under the regional “Programme for Strengthening the Central Bank Capacities in the Western Balkans with a view to the Integration to the European System of Central Banks”, with a focus on building institutional capacity and professional autonomy in the European integration process. The ambassador signalled support for the reform agenda and Slovakia’s readiness to continue providing expert and institutional assistance, alongside a shared commitment to deepen cooperation in monetary and financial policies.
