The Rwanda Capital Markets Authority (CMA), alongside market participants, launched a nationwide outreach campaign to educate university students on investment opportunities in Rwanda’s capital market. The campaign was launched on 16 May 2025 at the Nyagatare Campus of East African University Rwanda and is being delivered through the Capital Market Youth Forum. The programme will run across multiple university campuses and introduces core finance and investment concepts, including saving through investing, with students encouraged to ask questions and register as investors. CMA’s technical advisor highlighted the need to build a saving culture early, while a partner, RNIT Iterambere Fund, indicated it plans to engage the Ministry of Education on how this effort could be integrated into the national curriculum. The month-long outreach is scheduled to culminate in a national gathering of Capital Market Youth Forum participants on 20 June 2025 in Kigali for a comprehensive investment education session.
