Bank of Indonesia reported that broad money growth accelerated in May 2026, with M2 rising 10.8% year on year from 9.2% in April and reaching IDR 10,415.9 trillion. The pickup reflected growth in both narrow money and quasi-money, with M1 up 15.3% year on year and quasi-money up 6.0%. The central drivers were stronger credit expansion and higher net foreign assets. Disbursed loans grew 10.8% year on year in May, up from 9.4% in April, while net foreign assets increased 5.2% year on year, compared with 3.7% in the previous month.
