The Bank of Finland has published its 2025 Annual Report on Responsible Investment for its investment assets and issued updated responsible investment principles. The report sets out the climate impacts of the Bank’s own investment assets and progress toward its long-term objective of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 at the latest, supported by asset-class-specific intermediate targets used to monitor developments and guide investment activity. The climate metrics in the report were prepared under reporting frameworks agreed within the Eurosystem and comply with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures. Separately, the updated responsible investment principles clarify investment restrictions for weapons prohibited by international agreements and other controversial weapons, with more specific restrictions by weapon category. The Bank linked that update to the changed geopolitical and security policy environment.
