Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) announced the formal end of the transition period for transferring the regulation and supervision of digital financial assets, including cryptoassets, from Bappebti to OJK. The completion of the handover was marked by the signing of minutes terminating the OJK–Bappebti memorandum of understanding dated 10 January 2025. During the transition, a joint working group coordinated the transfer to OJK of copies of documents and/or data related to cryptoassets held by Bappebti, and ongoing coordination will now refer to the memorandum of understanding between OJK and Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade dated 18 August 2021.
