The Bank of Italy published updated financial market statistics for July and August 2026, showing that resident sectors recorded net bond redemptions of EUR 4.5 billion in July. General government net issuance of EUR 4 billion was outweighed by net redemptions from banks and other sectors. Government issuance reflected positive contributions from BTPs, CCTs and international securities of EUR 4.6 billion, EUR 2.2 billion and EUR 5.2 billion, respectively, while BOTs recorded EUR 8 billion in net redemptions. Banks posted net redemptions of EUR 5.9 billion. In August, gross yields to maturity on benchmark three, 10 and 30-year BTPs rose by 9, 11 and 11 basis points to 3.15%, 3.99% and 4.78%, respectively, while the benchmark CCT yield was unchanged at 3.27%.
