The Hong Kong Insurance Authority hosted the second edition of its Insurance-linked Securities (ILS) Conference, bringing together around 100 insurance practitioners, institutional investors and professional service providers from around the world to discuss the use of ILS for alternative risk transfer and as an investment product. In opening remarks, IA Chairman Stephen Yiu set out a focus on fostering an ecosystem spanning data harvesting, risk modelling, product innovation and talent development to strengthen Hong Kong’s competitiveness as a global risk management centre. The programme included panel discussions on the current landscape and latest developments in the ILS ecosystem and on ILS investment trends and strategies, followed by concurrent breakout sessions.
