The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ashmore Group to support the expansion of Qatar’s capital markets and strengthen the local asset management industry through knowledge exchange, development of innovative investment solutions, and initiatives to nurture local financial services talent. Ashmore, an emerging markets asset manager with USD 46.2 billion under management, will work with the QFC to introduce global best practices and deepen engagement with regional and international investors. The MoU builds on the QFC’s registration of Ashmore under its platform and its support for the launch of Ashmore’s new office in Qatar, which is intended to support local investment activity and expand Ashmore’s long-standing presence in the country.
